Family Scholar House
Family Scholar House (FSH) is the original signature brand that launched the Family parent company. Each year, Family Scholar House serves student parents, their children, and young adults aging out of foster care with a comprehensive, holistic continuum of care that meets them where they are and empowers them toward their educational, career and family goals. Our residential families have experienced poverty, unstable housing and, most often, domestic violence. With support, they enter careers and attain self-sufficiency.
In addition to the work specific to serving residential families, FSH is also the general/minority partner in multiple affordable housing developments that provide housing for FSH families. This includes a separate real estate holding company.
FSH Works
FSH Works was born from the upstream work of Family Scholar House. FSH Works is designed to cultivate growth in the workforce by inspiring a deeper understanding of individual skills and talents and provide the support needed for students and apprentices to thrive within their individual success.
With the desire to help students and families, FSH Works provides solutions through partnerships with educational institutions, employers, and at-home recovery programs to reduce dropping out and losing employment, and bring wrap-around services to those seeking healing and support to improve their lives.
FSH Resources
FSH Resources includes MyKY.info, as the first of FSH’s mobilized web-apps, free to the user and filled with free resources. The web-app provides language options of English, Spanish, and French and allows the user to filter based on their chosen demographic, with results organized based on the distance from the user’s location. Additional states are in development.
FSH Affiliates
FSH Affiliates provides support to non-profits nationwide, helping them replicate the FSH mission in their respective communities. FSH professional staff provides technical assistance and guidance to organizations to assist in development and implementation of programs and services. A comprehensive vetting process is mandatory for participation. Presently, our affiliates span across 18 sites.
FSH canvas/s
FSH canvas/s is a robust database built upon the Salesforce platform, featuring shield-level encryption. This platform enables staff to gather and monitor 238 data fields for each household, encompassing details such as government benefits, education, wages, trauma, self-sufficiency scores, and all touchpoints with staff.
